AIM introduction to fundraising

We’re pleased to introduce a brand new training session – introduction to fundraising. Ideal for anyone working in the museum sector with little or no fundraising experience who is keen to learn how to improve fundraising at their museum.

The course is delivered in two parts – part 1 on Wednesday 29 June and part 2 on Wednesday 6 July. Both sessions will run from 4pm – 6pm and will take place on Zoom.

Hosted by fundraising expert and founder of Development Partners, Judy Niner, the sessions will be interactive, giving you the chance to network with and learn from others in a similar situation. Judy is also updating AIM’s Fundraising Success Guide, which will be published this summer and will accompany the course.

Session 1 will cover:

  • The psychology of giving – Personal and group analysis of why we give; how we choose what to give to; what encourages us; what stops us.
  • Fundraising fitness – Are you ready to ask for funds; are people ready to give to you; what do you need to have in place before you ask.

Session 2 will cover:

  • Case for support – Why do you need money and what for; what will the outcomes be; what information do you need to gather; how will you give people the confidence to give.
  • Fundraising strategy – Where money may come from; how to prioritise; resources needed; risks and mitigations

Cost: £150 for AIM members, £200 for non-members for both sessions.
