Art Fund symposium to launch new report on the impact of ethnic diversity initiatives on curatorial roles

A morning symposium hosted by Art Fund in celebration of the launch of ‘It’s About Handing Over Power’: the impact of ethnic diversity initiatives on curatorial roles in the UK arts and heritage sector 1998-2021. The report, undertaken by Museum X in collaboration with Culture&, documents the last 20+ years of career development programmes aimed at diversifying the sector and how they have failed or succeeded. In addition, Art Fund has highlighted actions to move the sector forward in 2022 and beyond.

The session will explore what is needed to expand curatorial skill sets across institutions, engaging freelance curators, what work is being done and how do we train/future proof careers in the curatorial realm.
