Connected Communities – Ten top tips for making your organisation attractive to volunteers
Where: Zoom online webinar
Time: 14:00 - 15:30
This event is in connection with AIM’s new grant scheme, Connected Communities. If you’re thinking of applying to the grant scheme then we’d recommend coming along to this session. However, the session is also open to anyone interested in the topic of volunteering in the heritage sector.
We’ll explore ten key areas you can focus on to make your organisation even better at getting great volunteers. From the importance of simply thanking volunteers to principles of leadership and why good customer care is important, this workshop will confirm some essentials and give you new ideas to try.
The session will be hosted by Rob Jackson, a non-portfolio member of the Heritage Volunteering Group Executive Board and has been actively involved with HVG since 2017. Rob has worked in the volunteering movement for almost 30 years, during which time he has led and managed volunteers and volunteering in education, advice, fundraising and children’s services settings at local, regional and national levels. As well as his expertise in volunteerism, Rob has strong links with the fundraising world. He spent six years as a member of the Institute of Fundraising’s Standards Committee and chaired the Institute’s working party which developed the UK’s first code of good practice on volunteer fundraising.
This is a free session, open to everyone, not just AIM members, and will be hosted on Zoom.
2pm – 3.30pm Tuesday 6 June.
