Hallmarks at Home – A new approach to Collections Significance
Where: Zoom online forum
Time: 11:00 - 12:30
Jennifer Cragg, Heritage Consultant, from Headland Design Associates, shares a new Collections Significance Toolkit which has been developed for museums in Wales, but offers a fresh perspective for all museums. The new toolkit encourages us to take a philosophical approach to assessing the significance of collections and to bring communities into the conversation. Delegates will hear how the toolkit was developed and how it can be used by different types of museums in Wales and beyond. Delegates will also get the chance to test out the toolkit in small breakout groups using hypothetical collections and scenarios.
Headland Design is a heritage consultancy and interpretation design company based in Cheshire. We work on a wide range of projects, including exhibition design, fit out and interpretive planning; audience development and activity planning alongside collections care and understanding significance. The team bring a fresh perspective that combines our knowledge of creating exciting visitor experiences with understanding collections and heritage to ensure that we are able to support museums to develop imaginative and creative solutions.
11am – 12.30pm Tuesday 12 September. Free event exclusively for AIM members.
