An essential and practical introduction to museum governance and best practice for new trustees or a refresher for existing trustees. Funded by the Welsh Government.

The course consists of two workshops:
  • Part 1 on 24 January 2023
  • Part 2 on 7 February 2023

One booking covers both parts of the course.

These sessions will be interactive, engaging and will provide tools for you and your board to use in improving the governance of your museum. They are also an invaluable opportunity to network with other trustees, exchange ideas and be refreshed in your thinking about trustee induction.

Feedback from previous participant:

“Hilary and Ruth have a wealth of professional governance experience, expertise and patience and offered unparallelled wise support, help and direction in assisting Milford Haven Museum on governance issues this year through AIM funding. Aspects particularly helpful they gave us of their time were: advice on trustee skills gap analysis development, providing trainee training which outlined to trustees for the first time the full legal requirements of a trustee and enabled pause to reflect on skills, knowledge and experience.

Crucially they gave our trustees insight into how they were operating. This was vital for the organisation in gaining a greater degree of self- awareness especially in preparation for reviewing governance as part of our National Lottery Heritage Fund resilience project. I recommend them unreservedly.”
