New! Museum trustee induction training

The workshops are an essential and practical introduction to museum governance and best practice for new trustees or a refresher for existing trustees. They are also an invaluable opportunity to network with other trustees, exchange ideas and be refreshed in your thinking about trustee induction.

These sessions will be interactive, engaging and will provide tools for you and your board to use in improving the governance of your museum.

A good induction will enable your new trustees (first year) to become active and contribute more quickly and to greater effect to your museum.  It is also a requirement of the Museum Accreditation scheme.

AIM’s two sessions course is delivered by Hilary Barnard and Ruth Lesirge, the authors of AIM’s “Successful Governance for Museums” and acknowledged experts in charity governance.

You can apply for an AIM training grant if you’d like help covering the cost of this induction. You can make an application via our Training Grants page>>
