Supplier Spotlight – Exploring collections and capturing new audiences through film and animation
Where: Zoom online forum
Time: 10:00 - 11:30
In 2022 a staggering 82% of global internet traffic came from online video content. But in the post-Covid online boom in the heritage sector how do you create the content audiences are looking for?
Hosted by Pete Roch from AIM Associate Supplier Squeaky Pedal, this session will help you explore:
- How to approach heritage storytelling and the very best ways to engage with an audience
- Learnings from case studies from previous projects
- Hints and tips at the best ways to bring your collections and archives to life through film.
We’ll also explore how traditional archival reference material, such as oral histories, could be reimagined through the use of a variety of creative mediums such as animation. As well as thinking about the perceptions of what archival material is and how it is used. Demonstrating that any personal story can be a powerful asset that can evoke emotion and directly connect and engage with visitors or viewers on a personal level. Helping to bring potentially abstract history to life.
Squeaky Pedal is an award winning film production company that has a passion for telling stories. They create captivating documentaries, animations and social media content for museums and heritage organisations large and small, helping to capture new audiences, highlight little known stories, and repurpose archival collections.
This is a free webinar for AIM members, taking place via Zoom. 10am – 11.30am Thursday 18 May.
