AIM Training Grants are available to support member museums to develop the skills and expertise of their workforce, either paid or voluntary.
What we’re looking for
AIM members can apply for up to £300 to support training and development. This can cover:
We can support costs related to fees, accommodation (where distance travel is involved) and travel (when conditions allow).
In response to Covid-19 we recognise that training and development costs will have changed. We are happy to support online courses and training provided remotely.
Applicant museums must be AIM members and priority will be given to smaller museums receiving less than 20,000 visitors p.a.
The maximum grant is £300. Preference will be given to staff members and volunteers of museums that have not previously benefitted. We cannot support retrospective applications and can only support multiple applications from one museum up to a total value of £300 per museum per year.

Applications must be submitted by the end of the calendar month. AIM will respond to applications within two weeks of the end of each month.
Payment of grant, if awarded, will be made on receipt of a statement of expenses incurred and proof of expenditure. We’d also like to receive an image and a brief report of your training and what you learnt to share across AIM channels (max. 200 words).
