Help shape the future of the Heritage Education Trust

The Heritage Education Trust (HET), is seeking to understand how it might support heritage organisations and individual practitioners to continue to provide high quality education provision. This is currently made through its core activity; the annual Sandford Awards for Heritage Education, which the Trust manages in partnership with Bishop Grosseteste University.

Traditionally the Sandford Award has been awarded to learning departments who deliver formal education programmes within their sites. More recently this award has sought to acknowledge the informal learning programmes offered in addition to formal programming by these historic sites and organisations.

As learning within museums, galleries, historic sites, libraries, archives and zoos have continued to develop, HET is aware that learning programmes may be delivered by organisations and individuals without an historic site or museum of their own and takes place in a range of virtual and real environments, for multiple audiences.
