Salary: £50,000 – £60,000
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday – Friday)
Term: Permanent contract subject to probationary period of six months
Location: American Museum & Gardens, Bath
Reporting to: The Director (Chief Executive)

The mission of the American Museum & Gardens is to educate, stimulate, and inspire its visitors in order to further the understanding of American history and culture. The Museum carries out this mission through the presentation of its historic rooms, its decorative art and folk art collections, and its special exhibitions, publications, learning programmes, and gardens.  

The Business & Development Director, a new position, will have principal responsibility for generating both revenue and development funds for the Museum.  

The Museum is searching for an experienced, entrepreneurial, and energetic professional who will help the institution to build visitation and ensure the organisation’s long-term sustainability.  This person, who will serve on the Museum’s Senior Leadership Team, will need to set and meet goals in order to increase revenue and enhance the Museum’s financial position. 

The successful candidate will have extensive experience and ability in running successful fundraising campaigns, proven marketing experience with strong copywriting skills, and a strong track record of successful business development and enterprise.
