Job Title: Visitor Experience Manager
Contract: Permanent, full time. Subject to 3 month probationary period
Based at: The Lightbox, Chobham Road, Woking, GU21 4AA
Reports to: Operations Director
Salary: 
£24,000 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 9.30am – 5.30pm. Days: Tuesday – Saturday. Occasional out of hours work will be required for events for which time off is given in lieu.

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Lightbox is looking for an experienced visitor experience professional to lead the day-to-day management of their front of house team. This new role will be responsible for ensuring that the Visitor Experience Team (VET) are supported in their running of all front of house activities including meeting and greeting visitors and the running of the front of house areas including Reception and the galleries.

The role will be responsible for monitoring and recording visitor numbers and creating audience development strategies based on these insights. The role will also be responsible for the scheduling of the VET department including holidays. Duties will include providing cover for Reception and Duty Supervising the building as required. This role will report to the Operations Director who is responsible for Visitor Experience, Commercial, Marketing and the Building. The role will work closely with the Retail Manager and Volunteer Co-ordinator to ensure these aspect of the visitor experience are to the highest standard.

The candidate must have at least two years’ experience of working in Visitor Experience in a supervisory or managerial capacity. The role would suit someone who enjoys working with visitors and a staff team. Experience of working with and managing volunteers would be an advantage. Outstanding customer service and a desire to go above and beyond to deliver the best visitor experience possible is essential. Experience of the following would be highly beneficial: using till / EPOS systems, CRM systems and the use of MS Office including Excel and Outlook. It is desirable to have experience of working in the arts and heritage sector but not essential.
