Job title: Volunteer and Programmes Manager
Team: CCH Directorate – Arts, Heritage & Culture
Reporting to: Heritage Manager
Salary: £28,000
Term: Full Time; Fixed Term until end March 2021
Closing date: 9am Monday 23 November

To be a key member of the Arts, Heritage and Culture team, developing a framework for volunteer role creation, recruitment and support to enable our teams to deliver a range of projects, programmes and activities to support our ambitious Culture plan. To ensure our key arts and heritage sites remain open to the public and are safe and inviting for customers.

MAIN WORKING CONTACTS
Internal: Heritage, Gallery, Cultural Learning and Communications teams.
External: Local, regional and national Arts and Heritage organisations. Local CVS and other key partners.

KEY AREAS AND TASKS
1. Lead volunteer strategy implementation
1.1 Work with Managers and Directors to successful implement the Volunteering strategy
1.2 Work with others to identify and create exciting volunteering roles
1.3 Working with HR Business Partner, create recruitment processes and procedures
1.4 Lead volunteer recruitment process, attracting a pool of dedicated and talented volunteers
1.5 Establish and implement volunteer support framework, including 1:1 and appraisal processes that mirror current Heritage Foundation processes
1.6 Work with North Herts CVS and other volunteer support organisations to build strong relationships and ensure best practice
1.7 Deliver events and activities that celebrate the work and contribution of volunteers
1.8 Provide reports and data to Managers/Directors relating to volunteer recruitment and impact
2. Opening of our heritage, museum and arts sites
2.1 Work closely with Arts Curator and Heritage Manager to ensure adequate staffing/volunteers during opening hours
2.2 Work with Managers and Officers to review and update local operating procedures as
necessary, ensuring procedures are consistent across the organisation and site specific
2.3 Ensure local procedures are adhered to by volunteers and customers
3. Programme development
3.1 Work with Managers and Officers to create a range of exciting and engaging projects for our target audiences
3.2 Implement projects and activities, providing volunteer support where necessary
4. Audience Development Plan
4.1 Contribute to the creation of a culture audience development plan, particularly by adding project detail to reach our target audiences
4.2 Lead on delivery of certain activities and audience development

OTHER DUTIES
1.1 Be proactive in reviewing and evaluating own performance and identifying and acting upon areas for improvement and development.
1.2 Follow the Foundation’s policies, procedures and performance expectations.
1.3 Implement the Foundation’s Equal Opportunities Policy in all functions of the post.
