Gainsborough’s House is dedicated to celebrating the life and works of the renowned artist Thomas Gainsborough and what his work means in the world today. As a Trustee, you will have the unique opportunity to shape the future of one of the most important named artist museums in the country, following the appointment of its new Director Calvin Winner and the award-winning expansion of the National Centre.
By becoming a Trustee, you will play a vital role in guiding the museum’s strategic direction, ensuring its financial stability, and promoting its mission to inspire, educate, and engage audiences of all ages. You will work collaboratively with fellow Trustees, staff, and volunteers to support the development of innovative exhibitions, educational programmes, and community outreach initiatives. You will be expected to attend meetings of the Board and its sub-committees at least four times a year and engage with the programme and events on site.
We are seeking individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences who can bring fresh perspectives and skills to our dedicated team. At this time, we would like to hear from potential trustees with expertise in fundraising, marketing and events, estates development and placemaking, and/or audience development. Your unique insights will help us drive the museum and galleries’ development.
Join us in preserving and promoting the rich artistic heritage of Gainsborough’s House! Together, we can create a legacy for Thomas Gainsborough for future generations.
This is a voluntary role.
