The Museum of the Broads is seeking two (or three) new Trustees to join the board of our thriving museum as we continue our work of ‘Bringing the stories of the Broads alive.’
The Museum is at a key point in its history. In 2025 we will be celebrating 30 years since our launch, while we also look forward with our focus on delivering a financially sustainable future, securing the funding and investment needed. This is a great time to join a unique organisation that engages visitors through our boat trips, our extensive collections, and the stories and insights we share about life on the Broads.
Who we are looking for:
We are looking for Trustees with skills and experience in the areas of:
- Digital presence to help develop and implement our website, SEO and social media strategy and expand our online impact
- Charitable fundraising environment with knowledge and experience of donor and supporter engagement and fundraising ‘best practice’
- Curatorial best practice, including museums accreditation and collections management.
Duties
- To ensure the charity retains a clear vision, mission and strategic plan, to deliver our charitable aims.
- To ensure governance of the charity in the long-term interests of the Museum.
- Attend Board meetings (a mixture of online and in person meetings)
- To attend subcommittee meetings as required for individual areas of focus.
- Support the agreed business plan and progress towards targets.
- Monitor that relevant policies are applied as appropriate for areas.
- Support the museum staff and volunteers in their roles.
Additional information
Number of meetings per annum/time commitment: Approx 8 meetings a year, with the potential for involvement in working groups or sub-committees.
Daytime or evening meetings: A mixture of daytime and evening
