We are seeking an inspirational Chair of the board, along with a number of trustees, as we look forward to the next 10 years.

We have exciting plans for Charlton House, as we seek to drive the Trust’s commercial and community activities and build towards a sustainable future for our heritage assets, as well as opening up the museum collection and archive to more visitors.

Your leadership experience, stakeholder management and interest in both our local heritage and communities will lead the organisation into our next decade of growth.

What we are looking for

Following the retirement of Len Duvall OBE, who has led the charity for the past 10 years, we are seeking a new Chair to provide inspirational leadership to the Trust. Key responsibilities of the Chair include chairing the Board of Trustees, acting as a mentor to the Chief Executive, and actively supporting our fundraising activities.

We are looking for strong commercial skills, coupled with a strategic approach and great vision to help shape the future of the Trust. An advantage will be having excellent business and other contacts and a track record of delivering commercial success and sustainable growth.
