The Spode Museum Trust is an independent charitable trust, established in 1987 to protect the very important Spode Collection in perpetuity. In 2012 the Trust opened a small museum on the historic Spode site, which has now grown substantially into a popular visitor attraction with a successful retail area.
The Trust is seeking to recruit a trustee with legal qualifications and experience to advise on a range of legal issues which the Trust has to deal with on a regular basis. including such issues as leases and licensing, contracts and employment, Trust and Charitable governance, Company law and governance and Data Protection and Intellectual Property Rights. This is a very important role for the Trust. The vacancy has arisen through the retirement of a long-standing trustee.
Additional information
Number of meetings per annum/time commitment: Meetings quarterly for full Board, generally half a day.. The legal trustee may be called upon between meetings to advise on/deal with issues as they arise.
