The Long Shop Museum

Job Title: Trustees

Location: The Long Shop Museum, Suffolk

Closing date: 28 Mar 2025

The Long Shop Museum in Leiston, Suffolk seeks additional trustees to enhance the strength of the Board.

Our trustees meet six times a year, plus an annual strategy workshop.

Could you be the new blood with the fresh thinking we need to broaden to our boardroom discussions?

Last year we celebrated 40 years of the museum telling Leiston’s history, and the unique story of the entrepreneurial Garrett family who in the 19th century manufactured steam engines that were exported worldwide.

The museum is housed in the historic building in Leiston where those engines were made.

For any further questions or to express your interest in becoming a trustee, please email Angela Leonard, our chair of trustees: [email protected]

We are hoping to receive expressions of interest by 28 March 2025 and to be following them up early in April 2025.
