Trustee vacancy – Brixton Windmill
We are currently recruiting for the volunteer position of Chair of Trustees at Friends of Windmill Gardens.
The organisation is at a key transition point. Its architect-designed new community space, the Brixton Windmill Centre, is finally open post lockdown and the Windmill has re-opened for tours and visitors. Working with the Board and our volunteer workforce, our new Chair will need to lead FoWG on its journey of transformation from being a heritage-led organisation to a thriving community business with long-term financial sustainability.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who can embody the values and aims of FoWG, act as an ambassador for the organisation, lead a team, and facilitate diverse stakeholders to work together to meet CIO aims. You will have proven leadership skills working at a senior level (paid or voluntary), experience of chairing and facilitating meetings, and the ability to be both strategic and “hands on” in the role.
Note that this is a non-remunerated (unpaid) position.
As a community-based organisation, we are keen that the FoWG Board reflects the local community and we therefore welcome applications from a diverse pool of candidates.
For a further discussion about the role please contact Jean Kerrigan, the current Chair, via [email protected].
