Trustee vacancy – Combined Military Services Museum

The Combined Military Services Museum in Maldon combines important collections of arms and armour from the Medieval period through to the present day, together with extensive service records and wartime correspondence. Our Cold War and Special Operations collections are of national importance. Established in 1996 the Museum aspires to tell the amazing stories of the British military services. Our collections include the only surviving Cockle Canoe used in Operation Frankton – one of the most daring missions of WW2; ‘black’ kit used by the SAS in 1980 Iranian Embassy siege and an extensive collection of spy equipment.

The Museum has ambitious plans for the future. We are setting up a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) to guide its development and are now seeking to appoint Trustees to join our Board who can bring the experience and skills we need to help us deliver our aspirations of increasing visitor numbers and reaching new and diverse audiences.

The role of Trustee provides a rewarding opportunity to share your expertise and experience in forging the future direction of the Museum and its research programme.
