Trustee vacancy – Grampian Transport Museum
Grampian Transport Museum is seeking Trustees for 3 vacant positions on our Board. Having undergone a skills audit, we are specifically looking for a Trustee with experience in the following area:
- Fundraising (strategy, income streams, maximising potential, grant applications)
This voluntary role contributes to the success of Grampian Transport Museum by providing good governance and support to the museum. This will be achieved by supporting the museum’s compliance with regulatory and statutory rules/guidance, building relationships with external parties and stakeholders to support the development of the museum, strategic thinking through your skills and experience to encourage new ideas to develop the museum and providing the capacity to assess organisational risks and be assured in how those risks are managed. There is also a requirement for ad-hoc support for the museum leadership team in your area of expertise/experience.
Qualifications
Experience of working in a team is essential, as is the ability to build relationships with others. A degree of IT literacy is also required as much of our communication outside face to face meetings is by email. Beyond this, we are looking for individuals that are able to commit the time to supporting Grampian Transport Museum within their areas of expertise/experience and have skills in the areas we are looking to recruit for. The time commitment is variable and heavily dependent on your own capacity and the work being undertaken in the museum at the time.

We are a self-funding charity with a purpose – you’ll have the opportunity to help us share our amazing collection with and educate the community on travel and transport history in Grampian and Scotland by helping the museum remain topical and relevant.
Number of meetings per annum/time commitment: Variable time commitment, varies due to nature of our activity but 6 weekly Trustee meetings, hybrid model.
Daytime or evening meetings: Evening (Monday nights, 7pm)
