Trustee vacancy – The Lace Guild
The Lace Guild is a small charity and accredited museum which has recently become a CIO (Charity Registration No 1195559). We are looking for a new Treasurer to join our Board of Trustees and work alongside our existing Treasurer until our AGM in June to ensure a smooth handover of duties.
The role would suit someone with a strong accounting background. Familiarity with Sage, online banking and a good working knowledge of Treasury would be an advantage. The charity employs a part-time Accounts Assistant to deal with day-to-day bookkeeping. The Treasurer will have an overview of our finances and also be responsible for preparing the end of year accounts on a receipts and payments basis.
Other duties include setting the annual budget and producing financial updates for Board meetings. Advising and supporting the Board and staff on any financial matters and liaising with our auditor. The current Treasurer feels that a time commitment of approx. half a day a week is required plus meetings time.
Number of meetings per annum/time commitment: Currently 5 Board meetings per year plus AGM,( live and Zoom) All meetings are currently held on Zoom. We plan to increase the number with a view to shorter meetings with a targeted agenda.
Daytime or evening meetings: daytime, evening or weekends with agreement of all Board members.
Closing date for applications: 31 December 2022
