The Story Museum is seeking three inspiring and knowledgeable people to join our Board of Trustees. At this time we are looking for expertise in finance, digital and education to strengthen the combined skill set of our already brilliant Board.
Trustee Education
The Story Museum is seeking an individual with extensive experience in education to join the Board, with specific oversight around the Museum’s learning programmes with children, young people and teachers. We are looking for an individual with personal knowledge and networks in the teaching and education sector and with a working knowledge of the National Curriculum and an understanding of key Government education policies that relate to the museum’s work in literacy, oral storytelling, communication skills and wellbeing. Trustee Digital
The Story Museum is seeking an individual with extensive experience in digital creative work to join the Board. We are looking for an individual with personal knowledge and networks in digital content and tools to broaden audience reach, with an understanding of how the digital arena is developing and what the opportunities and relevance is for different age groups of young people. Trustee Finance and Commerce
The Story Museum is seeking an individual with strong financial acumen to join the Board and provide support in the area of financial oversight, commercial opportunities, business and strategic planning. We are looking for someone with experience of being directly accountable for the financial success of a business or charity and with a clear understanding of financial planning and statutory accounts. Additional information
Number of meetings per annum/time commitment:
Board appointments are for an initial 3-year term. The Board meets quarterly. Trustees may also be required to attend additional sub-committee or task-focused group meetings.
Daytime or evening meetings:
Full Board meetings are usually held at The Story Museum in Oxford in the early evening. Sub committees and task groups generally meet during the day either in person or in hybrid meetings.
