Trustee vacancy – Tiverton Museum of Mid-Devon Life

Tiverton Museum of Mid-Devon Life is an award-winning independent museum that holds one the largest collections in the West Country. We are seeking a Chair and up to 4 trustees to help us take the museum forward to a successful future. No specialist knowledge of museums or local history is needed, just an appreciation of the importance of local heritage and skills/experience that will help the museum, in particular business, IT, education, fundraising and finance.

Number of meetings per annum/time commitment:

Normally, the full board would meet 6 times a year. However, since Covid 19 has struck, the board has at times been meeting monthly in order to manage the changing operational landscape and support the team. We have also established a sub-committee to deal with operational matters and provide support for the Director; this group meets every fortnight on average via Zoom for around 2 hours.

Trustees are asked to commit to a three-year term on the Board, with the option of serving for a further two terms.Monthly 2 hour meetings plus additional sub committee time.

Daytime or evening meetings: Evening (early evening).

Closing date for applications:      No fixed closing date.
