Watts Gallery Trustee (Commercial Operations) and Chair of Watts Gallery Trading Company

Watts Gallery Trust is looking to recruit a trustee with a strategic focus on the role of Chair of Watts Gallery Trading Company to support all areas of commercial activity. Watts Gallery Trust is keen to hear from dynamic and engaged people with a retail management background and an interest in supporting our charitable mission of Art for All. Whether you are an experienced trustee or want to take your first step at Board level, we are keen to hear from you. Watts Gallery Trust is seeking a trustee with a background in retail management to also act as Chair of our trading company – Watts Gallery Trading Ltd.

You will have significant current or previous experience running a retail business, either in the arts and cultural heritage sectors, or more widely as a managing director or senior executive in the catering and / or the retail management sector. As Chair of the Trading Company Board, you will provide support to the Head of Trading and to the Brice Director & Chief Executive in managing the dynamic Trading Company, which oversees the shop, online shop, tea Shop, venue hire, and Watts Contemporary Gallery.

Watts Gallery Trustee (Treasurer)

Watts Gallery Trust is looking to recruit a trustee to act as Treasurer and Chair of the Finance & Buildings Committee and is keen to hear from dynamic and engaged people with a financial background and an interest in supporting our charitable mission of Art for All. Whether you are an experienced trustee or want to take your first step at Board level, we are keen to hear from you. Our new trustee will be committed to developing an organisation and audience that represents the diverse community that we serve. They will have an interest in art and be based in our community (defined as within a one-hour drive time of the gallery).

Watts Gallery Trust is seeking a trustee with a background in strategic financial management. You will have significant current or previous experience as an Accountant / Finance Director / CFO / Chief Executive or similar role responsible for financial management or financial oversight in a commercial or charitable organisation, good understanding of charity accounting principles, and an interest in the arts and cultural heritage. As Chair of the Finance & Buildings Committee, you will provide support to the Head of Finance & Resources and the Brice Director & Chief Executive in managing the charity. You will also work with the Chair, Deputy Chair and other trustees and committee chairs in providing suitable oversight of the charity and its activities.

Watts Gallery Trustee (Education and Learning)

Watts Gallery Trust is looking to recruit an Education and Learning trustee and is keen to hear from dynamic and engaged people with a background in education and learning and an interest in supporting our charitable mission of Art for All. Whether you are an experienced trustee or want to take your first step at Board level, we are keen to hear from you. Watts Gallery Trust is seeking a trustee with a background in learning and engagement with and for children and young people (whether at primary, secondary, Further or Higher Education level) to provide strategic input into our acclaimed community learning and engagement programmes. You will have significant current or previous experience in this area to draw from, either based in the arts and cultural heritage sectors, or more widely in formal education settings, and not currently have direct funding or partnership links to Watts Gallery Trust.

Number of meetings per annum/time commitment: 4-5 meetings per year

Daytime or evening meetings: Both
