Trustee vacancy – Whitchurch Silk Mill

Whitchurch Silk Mill Trust aims to maintain a board of trustees with a wide range of skills and experience and has two new vacancies.

Trustee with a legal background

On the retirement of one of the trustees in 2023, the Trust will lose a long-serving member of the Board who, as a solicitor, regularly provides the Board and Mill Director with valuable advice on a range of matters. So we are now looking to appoint a trustee to provide expertise in this field.

If you have knowledge or experience of the law (preferably general commercial and/or charity regulation (governance) and/or property) and are currently or were recently practising and would like to contribute to the work of this working museum, we would like to hear from you. (For clarity, the Trust is in a position to seek external legal advice where necessary and is aware of the restrictions on Board members’ ability to provide professional advice.)

Trustee with a marketing background

Key to the Mill’s success is our visitors, supporters and stakeholders. As such, the Board is looking for someone with recent marketing experience, good media and PR connections, and/or philanthropic funding and donor relations experience.

Though specific sector experience would be an asset, the Board would just as much value industry experience and the connections and experience that this brings.
