Assistant Visitor Experience Manager- Retail and Museum Operations – Royal Hospital Chelsea

The Visitor Experience Manager (Retail and Museum Operations) at the Royal Hospital Chelsea will ensure a high-quality visitor experience at the Soane Stable Yard. Responsibilities include supervising staff, In-Pensioners, and volunteers, ensuring adequate staffing, and providing cover when necessary. The role involves supporting and deputising for the Senior Visitor Experience & Programme Manager and the Retail Manager, maintaining high levels of customer service, handling payment discrepancies, and assisting in event planning. The ideal candidate will collaborate with the Audience Engagement team and external partners to deliver exceptional visitor experiences. Ideal candidates will have at least 2 years of experience in a public-facing role within a visitor attraction, museum, or similar venue, and possess strong leadership, multitasking, and customer service skills. Additionally, they should be proficient with IT tools, including EPOS and ticketing systems, and be computer literate with experience using the Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). The role requires regular weekend and occasional evening work and deputising for the Senior Visitor Experience and Programmes Manager. This is a part time role working an average of 32 hours per week which includes weekend work.

Salary £24,800 pro rata.
