Bucks Museum is an independent Trust which was set up in 2014, moving away from the local authority Bucks County Council. The Trust now attracts over 93000 visitors per year which includes 13000 school children and looks after a large collection of artefacts covering the history of Bucks from 200 million years ago to today. The main galleries in the Museum showing objects from the history of Bucks are 25 years old and the Museum is currently working on a number of projects to develop new galleries and associated engagement activities.

Digital Engagement Consultant

The Museum has a long history of running engaging, hands-on learning sessions for schools and families and has been fortunate to have been awarded funding from the Arts Council England’s Culture Recovery Fund to support the growth and sustainability of this work in light of the impact of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The new Digital Engagement Consultant will be key in supporting the process of developing new online content, for schools and the public.

We are inviting applications from experienced freelance consultants working within the field of museum learning and digital engagement to support our online learning programme.

 Value of Consultancy: £6,000

Bucks Heroes Programme Manager

At Bucks County Museum, we are creating new galleries that represent our local people and landscapes, which will tell the stories of communities then and now using our collections.  We have secured National Lottery Heritage Fund investment over 3 years to deliver a project celebrating Bucks Heroes, which will enhance the content of, and provide animation for, our new Bucks People gallery.  ‘Bucks Heroes’ will collate, curate and share representative, and often hidden, content from a broad range of community groups and individuals, enhancing our collections and the stories we tell. Events Programming Consultant

We are looking for an events consultant to work with staff to co-ordinate a programme for the next 12 months and carry out the event planning ready to hand over to other staff to deliver for 30 June 2021. The new Events Programming Consultant will be key in supporting the process of developing new offers, for the upcoming year and ensuring that our existing visitors return to us, as well as attracting new audiences linked to our new mission and vision.
