CEO – The BGI / National Videogame Museum
Location: National Videogame Museum, Castle House, Angel Street, Sheffield, with some flexible working

Role:
The BGI, charity number 1183530, is looking for a Chief Executive Officer to be its visionary leader and to manage the day-to-day operations including all aspects of finance, fundraising, arts, heritage, HR, governance, risk and relationships as well as maintaining all policies as set by the Trustee Board.
Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Vision – deliver our Charitable Objects by driving and developing the strategic vision for our work on behalf of the public.
- Finance and Fundraising – manage all financial aspects of the charity.
- Arts and Heritage – manage all aspects of our arts and heritage status including our museum, collection and heritage society.
- Team Resources – directly manage Executive Management and lead the team overall to oversee the museum and various programmes that the charity delivers.
- Governance and Risks – commit to effective governance as the foundation of all operations, maintain all policies as set by the Board of Trustees, ensure transparent and publicly accessible processes and manage our short and long term risk register.
- Stakeholders and Relationships – represent the charity to all internal and external stakeholders and media representatives, ensuring timely and relevant communication as necessary, whilst working to increase our public profile.
Person specification:
Essential Knowledge: arts and heritage sector; charity and governance; organisational finance, project and team management; fundraising.
Desirable Knowledge: educational sector; research methods; video games sector.
Experience: charity organisational leadership, management and governance, ideally managing a museum or an equivalent visitor attraction; physical premises management, multi-strand programme development and delivery; income and financial accountability including revenue generation and government funding.
Skills: leadership and team motivation skills, project and team management skills, financial and accounting skills, relationship, stakeholder and fundraising management skills, business plan development and monitoring skills and marketing, brand and communication skills.
