The role
Do you love collections documentation and are ready to play a pivotal role in the redevelopment of Hereford Museum and Art Gallery?
We are seeking a proactive and energetic individual with experience in collections documentation, to join us as a Collections Information Officer. The role offers an exciting challenge for those interested in museum collections and for those with a passion for managing amazing collections and their information: from acquisition and exhibition to rationalisation and digital access.
This post is fixed term for 2 years. This post is made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund, with thanks to National Lottery players.
Salary: HC06 £25,979 – £29,777
What will you be doing?
As a Collections Information Officer, your expertise will be instrumental in leading the documentation and care of our collections, ensuring meticulous record-keeping and preservation. You will work closely with colleagues, volunteers, and project partners to contribute to the ambitious redevelopment of our museums. Additionally, your methodical and creative approach will be key in enhancing the accessibility of our collections, making them more engaging and inclusive to diverse audiences.
You will be joining the team at an exciting time as we redevelop Hereford Museum and Art Gallery and reorganise the service. We want to be a socially engaged organisation. Our aim is to re-establish strong relationships with the people and communities of Herefordshire and embed inclusivity and community involvement at the heart of how we work.
