Museums Northumberland supports a range of projects that bring collections closer to people.
We are recruiting for new colleagues to help us ‘Share Northumberland’s Stories to engage, enrich and inspire’ and support community coproduction, climate activism, learning and inspiration across our museums and beyond.
Purpose of the Job
You will support our communities to lead our work, shaping our programme, collections, and organisational ambitions. In collaboration with our Learning & Engagement Manager, you’ll support and diversify our Community Advisory Panel and facilitate community collaboration, and relationship building across the museum service. You’ll support our efforts to ensure equity, diversity and inclusion and prioritise intellectual and physical accessibility. You’ll build knowledge and understanding of our communities’ needs and support learning understanding across the organisation.
You’ll find creative ways to engage communities, designing bespoke opportunities for specific audience needs, and robustly measure and disseminate the impact of this work internally and externally. You’ll lead and inspire volunteers and colleagues to work closely to achieve our aims and build respectful partnerships with a diverse array of partners. The Community Connector will also be a key stakeholder within the management team, working across the organisation to help plan and deliver our ambitions and targets whilst maintaining excellent relationships with colleagues, Trustees, stakeholders and third-party providers.

This is a permanent role with a probationary period of six months. Flexible, and remote working supported.
