Curator – Lowewood Museum

Lowewood Museum Trust are looking for a self-motivated, enthusiastic team player with curatorial skills and experience to join our small team at Lowewood Museum, a small but vibrant museum and heritage hub in the town of Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire.
Our Curator has a key role looking after the 40,000+ objects in the collection that help tell the story of the Borough of Broxbourne and its communities.
This is a part time role, salary £14,000, 2 days per week (15 hours). FTE £35,000.
The key objectives of the role will be to:
- support the trustees and work closely with museum colleagues to help achieve the museum’s vision of aspiring to become a focal point for Broxbourne’s heritage, past and present, reaching out across the Borough and its communities.
- work with the Museum Project Manager and other colleagues and partners to create an engaging and varied temporary exhibition programme and events.
- care for and manage the museum’s mixed collections totalling just over 40,000 items.
- train and support the team of Collections Volunteers.
- create opportunities for access and engagement to the collections.
- Maintain the museum’s accreditation.
