Curator (Maternity Cover) – The Hepworth Wakefield

We are seeking an experienced Curator (maternity leave cover) to join our Collection and Exhibitions team to research, devise and deliver a programme of world-class exhibitions and collection displays, support the development of Wakefield’s art collection and contribute to our learning and public programmes.

The Curator (maternity leave cover) will play an important role in developing networks with peer organisations in the UK and overseas to extend our touring exhibitions programme, and will contribute to our digital engagement strategy and publishing plans. You should have excellent knowledge of art history and contemporary art, with a genuine passion for 20th -century British art, as well as experience of collection care and proven ability to work with contemporary artists and their representatives in an effective and collegiate way. You will need to be an excellent communicator and enjoy relationship-building.

The salary offered for this maternity leave cover position is £31,000 per annum. Full-time, 37 hours per week – hybrid working options available.
