Salary: £30,000
Hours: 35 hours per week, with occasional evening and weekend working
Term: Permanent
Location: Alfred Gillett Trust, Street, Somerset

Introduction
The Alfred Gillett Trust is embarking on an exciting capital development project to build a new museum in Somerset. We’re looking for an experienced Development Manager to help us raise our profile and raise the funds we require to deliver our short, medium and long term aspirations.
About Us
The Alfred Gillett Trust was established as a charitable entity in 2002 to preserve the heritage collections of the global footwear manufacturer C & J Clark International Ltd., and the Clark Family who established the company in 1825. We are the custodian of a Grade II listed building, the Grange, in the village of Street, Somerset, which houses our purpose-built archive store along with office facilities for staff and volunteers to support those wishing to access the history and the heritage represented by the collections.
About the Role
The Development Manager has responsibility for generating income through philanthropy for the Alfred Gillett Trust.
Candidates for this role will have substantive experience of fundraising for a capital development project, preferably within the museum and/or the heritage sector with particular experience of raising funds from institutions, corporates, trusts and foundations, major donors and legacy giving.
The trust is embarking on a major capital development project with a clear vision to open a museum at the Grange site in time for the 200th anniversary of the founding of C&J Clarks, in 2025. A further phase of development will be completed by 2030.
This is a new position, and the Trust is looking for someone with drive and energy to push forward a new fundraising strategy that will fulfil our aspirations and make them a reality.
