For our distinctive, important, scholarly, purposeful, and intellectually entrepreneurial art institution. Founded in Whitechapel in 1915, the charity / museum reinvented itself in 2002 as a mainstream art and academic institution focussing on the extensive Jewish and wider immigrant contribution to British visual culture since 1900. In 2018 it further responded to the future by restructuring into four divisions led by and through the first full scale virtual museum and research centre – benuri.org incorporating the Ben Uri Research Unit (buru.org.uk), the internationally respected Ben Uri Collection (benuricollection.org.uk) and the Ben Uri Arts and Mental Health Unit.
The Research Unit has published over 600 profiles, another 900 under research and forecasts a further 2500+ to fulfil its objective in being the first stop, most authoritative digital resource for the wide variety of meaningful contributions, across all professions, to the enrichment of the British art mosaic by immigrants to this country.
The development focus in the next 2 years is on some 50 of the 100+ diverse immigrant communities recorded.

The position is full time, based in St. John’s Wood, London, but 3 or 4 days will be considered from the right candidate.
Starting salary £35,000 per annum. Certain degree of flexi-hours can be accommodated by negotiation.
