Director – Creswell Heritage Trust
Salary: £50,000
Hours: Full time
Term: 3 years fixed term
Location: Creswell Crags Museum & Heritage Centre, Crags Road, Welbeck, Worksop, Nottinghamshire S80 3LH
Closing date: 10:00 am 23 January 2024
Creswell Heritage Trust is looking for an inspiring Director to deliver on its long-term vision, secure the future of the Trust and ensure that more people are able to discover the stories of Creswell Crags. We need a leader with the skills and experience to complete the business recovery and turnaround of the Trust, building on the work that has already taken place and the support we have secured. There is much to do, but this is what makes this role such an exciting challenge and opportunity for someone who wishes to make their mark in the heritage world.
Creswell Crags is supported by strategic funding from Arts Council England over a three-year period. We are working closely with them and other key funders including the National Lottery Heritage Fund, and our financial reporting and documents will be reviewed by them on a regular basis for the duration of the grant. We will be looking to apply for future ACE funding, including
future NPO rounds. We require a Director with strong communication skills to create collaborative relationships with these key stakeholders, and also with Nottinghamshire County Council, Derbyshire County Council and the Welbeck Estate who own Creswell Crags and lease the site to the Trust.
Our new Director will be someone who can inspire and lead the team to deliver on the long-term vision for the Trust. The ability to build strong relationships with local communities and audiences is as critical as financial acumen. The Director must be able to balance the challenges of providing day-to-day management for the organisation while also steering the organisation through this period of change and providing strong leadership and future vision.
You will lead and work with our Senior Management Team, a dedicated and proactive team, who work cross-departmentally to achieve the best outcomes for the Trust and our audiences.
The new Director must be able to work onsite the majority of the time, with remote working no more than 1 day per week. But the Trust will look favourably on proposals for flexible working, including job share.
