Events Apprentice – St Barbe Museum & Art Gallery
Hours: 30 hours per week
Term: 15-18 month apprenticeship placement

We are looking to appoint an Events Assistant Apprentice. This is an exciting opportunity to join the St Barbe team, along with undertaking training that will be a foundation for your whole career.
St Barbe Museum + Art Gallery is an independent charity, with permanent and temporary exhibitions, a research archive, gift shop and café, located at the heart of the historic market town of Lymington in the New Forest. The Museum preserves and shares the objects, images, and stories of the New Forest coast to inspire and deepen our audiences understanding of their own cultural identity and sense of place. The Art Gallery showcases unique exhibitions, borrowing work from the V&A, Tate, the British Museum and other national organisations, attracting local and national visitors. We deliver an exciting and diverse programme of cultural activity, inclusive to all.
We are looking to appoint an Events Apprentice. This is an exciting opportunity to join the St Barbe team, along with undertaking training that will be a foundation for your whole career. You will bring your enthusiasm, energy and a willingness to develop your skills.
We provide the opportunity to work on a range of events of all sizes as part of a friendly and supportive team.
St Barbe’s has an exciting programme of both commercial and community events. You will work with a professional, experienced team to develop, market and deliver our programme of activities.
Work will involve:
- Workshops for schools
- Activities for the community
- Young curator’s events
- New Artist events
- Friends and Patrons events.
The role will involve:
- Planning events
- Contacting new participants
- Promotion and marketing events
- Social media development
- Assisting with evaluation.
Salary: £6 per hour / £180 per week / £720 per month
