Exhibitions Manager – Pitzhanger Manor and Gallery

An exciting part-time opportunity in a newly created role for an experienced Exhibition Manager to support the successful delivery of Pitzhanger’s exhibitions programme.

Pitzhanger organises a programme of exhibitions throughout the year which are a crucial element of its public programme: these range from major artist shows in Pitzhanger Gallery (eg Anish Kapoor, Es Devlin, Julian Opie), to thematic exhibitions, community displays and interventions across the site, including outside in the surrounding gardens, within the Manor and in the Soane Gallery.

The Exhibition Manager will support the successful delivery of Pitzhanger’s exhibition programme by project-managing the exhibitions, overseeing all the logistics within budget, from initial plans through to install and de-install, and liaising with artists, lenders, curators, contractors and the Pitzhanger team.  The Exhibition Manager will also curate specified displays.

Pitzhanger Manor is the Grade 1 listed ‘country’ house of architect Sir John Soane, designed and built by Soane 1800-1804 in what was then rural Ealing, West London.  It hosts a programme of ambitious and challenging exhibitions of art, architecture and design in Pitzhanger Gallery, with plans to extend these across the site.  Pitzhanger reopened to the public in March 2019 with the Manor restored to Soane’s original designs, and an exhibition of mirror sculptures by Anish Kapoor, following a major HLF and ACE-supported restoration project.
