Facilities & Maintenance Manager – Yorkshire Air Museum

Salary: £30,000 – £33,000 pa FT, possible Part time pro rata
Full Time Permanent role. Average 5 days out of 7 with some weekend work required. 28 days annual leave per annum including Bank Holidays. Place of work YO41 4AU (Elvington, York). A PRO RATA reduced hours would be considered for the right candidate.
We are the UK’s largest independent aviation museum and among the top ten places to visit in York. We sit on the site of RAF Elvington, a World War II bomber base just outside the city.
You will manage all aspects of Facilities, Maintenance and Grounds as well as having a good knowledge of all Health and Safety requirements and a collaborative way of team working.
Role purpose
To lead on maintenance, repair and cleaning of all museum buildings and grounds alongside safe ways of working across the site.
The work will consist of management of regular contractors and those working on projects. You will ensure the aesthetics, security and Health and Safety of the site is of a high standard for all staff, volunteers and visitors. You will have responsibility for a small team, be a budget holder and input into annual budget planning cycles. The role will also have a hands on element as necessary to include grounds maintenance and general repairs.
You will be a key part of the management team inputting into strategic leadership across the site. You will be included on the Duty Manager rota which is expected to be one in three weekends plus occasional event days as required.
