Hours: 37.5 hours per week to include some evening and weekend working as part of a staff rota

Milton Keynes Museum, a charity, is currently undergoing an exciting £7.3 million expansion project with over £5 million coming from Milton Keynes Council and the rest being sought from other funders. This expansion is producing exciting opportunities for more people to be involved with and support the Museum.

About the role  

Milton Keynes Museum is seeking an enthusiastic and professional Finance and General Manager to oversee the smooth running of the Museum as a visitor attraction, playing a vital role in supporting the museum through this transitional phase.

The post holder will be a museum employee, reporting to the Board of Trustees and a key member of the Museum’s management team, working with the Board of Trustees, the Museum Director and Head of Development. They will line manage the staff and volunteers that deliver the functions covered by the role, including Finance and Office Administration, and third-party suppliers where facilities and support services are bought in.

They will also hold budget responsibility in their specific areas of activity. 

Job Purpose 

To be responsible for the effective financial management of the Museum, to ensure strong governance and legal compliance, and to manage the facilities and support functions of the Museum to achieve the general smooth running of the Museum.
