Vacancy for a Communications Officer (Freelance)

Project:  Free-to-Join Supporter Scheme run by the Museum in the Park

Closing date for applications: 5pm Monday 26 April 2021.

The Museum in the Park (a Stroud District Council service) is inviting applications from a suitably qualified and experienced communication freelancer in the field of Supporter Schemes in the heritage / cultural / not-for-profit sector.

The Museum is successful, having grown and sustained visits in person to above 60,000 a year (pre-Covid). We remain a free to enter Museum. This presents a strong position from which to introduce our new free-to-join Supporter Scheme, which forms an important part of our future direction and our forward plan (2018-2023).

The freelancer will help set up the new supporter scheme with a focus on developing an effective communication campaign to engage audiences with the Museum, both What’s On and ‘Behind the Scenes’. The campaign will drive supporter recruitment, engagement and retention.

To help staff across the Museum embed the scheme you must have a good practical understanding of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Systems, including their implementation, audience segmentation and creating templates and marketing copy. Demonstrable evidence of building audience engagement through communications is essential.

Appointment is expected towards the end of May/Early June 2021 for a minimum of 104 days until 31 March 2022. The fee for this role is fixed at £18,000.

Funding of this project is from Arts Council England National Lottery Project Grant, the Garfield Weston Foundation, Stroud District Council, Stroud District (Cowle) Museum Trust.
