Whether it is managing our portfolio, servicing our customers at our venues or providing heritage advice all our teams play an integral part in our amazing journey and now is a really exciting opportunity to be part of this.

As our business grows, we have reviewed our approach to community and charitable services and to meet our ambitious strategic plans we require ongoing financial investment to make some of our services areas financially sustainable.  Whilst some fundraising success has been realised over the last 12 months we are hiring a new Fundraising Manager role to build out on this.

The Fundraising Manager will be responsible for delivering the fundraising strategy, working with the Executive Director – Communities, Culture & Heritage and key senior staff to identify priority programmes and secure funding to enable delivery.

To be successful in this role you will be passionate about building a fundraising strategy which delivers great benefit for the business.  You will have done a similar role in the past and be able to bring a toolbox of experience to build out this new role and function.

Key deliverables

Fundraising Strategy

  • Lead on the delivery of our current fundraising strategy
  • Lead on future review and update of fundraising strategy, presenting to trustees, Leadership team and other internal stakeholders
  • Set and achieve ambitious targets and performance indicators
  • Create associated action and delivery plan to achieve strategy and targets
  • Work with our existing theory of change and impact measurement tools
  • Contribute to audience development plan work to ensure a collaborative and audience focused approach to fundraising

Trusts and Foundations

  • Undertake research and work effectively with the rest of the team in order to inform prospect cultivation
  • Build an ongoing pipeline of high-calibre, relevant prospects with the capacity to fund at the required level.
  • Create high quality bids, using strong written, presentation and financial skills
  • Ensuring effective communications and stewardship of Trusts and Foundations, including clear reporting as required, regular contact and invitations to events where appropriate
  • Use fundraising database to log all relevant trusts and foundation related information

Sponsorship

  • Research and appraise a range of potential sponsorship programmes, working with colleagues to shortlist
  • Create compelling, high-quality and low-resource sponsorship programmes with internal partners
  • Identify and approach potential local, regional and national sponsors
  • Manage and maintain communications and relationships with sponsors, ensuring high net return
  • Track and monitor relevant information relating to sponsors, reporting as required

Donations

  • Identify and implement suitable donations tools for in person and digital donations
  • Work with internal teams to create compelling donations campaigns
  • Track, monitor and regularly evaluate donations methods and campaigns to ensure they are generating sufficient return on investment

Data & Reporting

  • Research and implement a fundraising database to track all fundraising activity
  • Train and support colleagues to ensure consistent and accurate information is recorded and regularly reported to funders
  • Provide training and education to internal colleagues relating to fundraising
  • Create and implement tools and systems to record, track and report on all fundraising activities through a dashboard
  • Provide regular reports to leadership team and board of trustees
  • Communicate regularly with internal and external audiences, working in partnership with marketing and communications team

 Experience

  • Previous experience of working in a role developing and implementing a fundraising strategy and evaluating its effectiveness
  • Experience of writing Cases for Support and presenting compelling advocacy materials to support a fundraising strategy.
  • Experience of researching grant opportunities as well as developing tools and resources to support grant applications.
  • Experience of managing donor communications and relations.
  • Track record of securing and managing multi-year revenue funding with annual targets of £150k upwards
  • High levels of numeracy and experience in budget planning, pipeline management, financial preparation and analysis for report writing.
  • Experience in preparing visually compelling content for grant funder stewardship and reporting content, as well as an understanding of programme design, programme delivery and impact reporting would also be highly desirable.
