Interpretation and Exhibition Design Consultant – Mercian Regiment Museum (Worcestershire)
Term: September 2024 – November 2025
Location: The Mercian Regiment Museum (Worcestershire), Dancox House, Pheasant Street, Worcester WR1 2EE
Closing date: 9:00 am 16 August 2024
The Mercian Regiment Museum (Worcestershire) is seeking a specialist to develop an Interpretation Plan, Concept and Scheme Design for The Worcestershire Soldier at the Commandery Project.
The MRMW has been awarded Development Grant funding from The National Lottery Heritage Fund for our project, The Worcestershire Soldier at the Commandery. The project is a partnership between the MRMW, The Worcestershire, Yeomanry Museum and Museums Worcestershire and aims to relocate and reimagine the regimental displays currently housed in Worcester City Art Gallery and Museum to create a new visitor attraction in the Commandery in Worcester’s Heritage Quarter. We are now entering the Development phase of the project and are working towards submission of a Delivery Phase application to The National Lottery Heritage Fund by mid November 2025.
Working to the Curator of MRMW through the Project Manager, the Exhibition Design Consultant will develop an interpretation plan and designs to the equivalent of RIBA stage 3 for a new exhibit over four ground-floor rooms in the Canal Wing of the Commandery. The consultant’s designs will form part of our submission to The National Lottery Heritage Fund for Delivery Phase Funding and must be finalised in time for the project’s Development Phase Review expected to be completed in early October 2025 in advance of our Delivery Phase application.
