Invitation to tender for Exhibition Development

You are invited to submit a tender for the provision of services for Allen Gallery and Gardens Project Exhibition Development Project managed by Hampshire Cultural Trust.

Funding has been secured from the National Lottery Heritage Fund for the first phase of a potential redevelopment of the Allen Gallery, transforming it into a community focused cultural hub in the centre of Alton, Hampshire.

The redevelopment will include a new café, courtyard and new flexible community space, refurbished ceramics galleries, a new WH Allen gallery and a dedicated study area for ceramic specialist research.

HCT’s requirements are for the provision of a) community engagement, b) exhibition interpretation and c) exhibition concept design services.

The contractor is responsible for the professional delivery of each element of the contract to HCT’s requirements.

The contract will run in two phases alongside the development phase and the delivery phase of the AGG project:

1. Phase one – Development phase Commence January 2023 and end December 2023
2. Phase two – Delivery phase Commence June 2023 and end October 2025.

Please note: Services will cease between the development and delivery phases. Recommencement of the contract for the delivery phase will be subject to lottery funding approval as well as satisfactory completion of exhibition development services in the development phase.

Proposals from organisations, or collaborations of organisations, are welcomed for:

• all three elements (community engagement, exhibition interpretation and exhibition design)
• OR the community engagement and exhibition interpretation elements ONLY
• OR the exhibition design ONLY.

In each of the 3 options above, one organisation will lead on the proposal submission and contract communications with Hampshire Cultural Trust even when submitting a proposal in collaboration with another organisation.

The contract will run from January 2023 to October 2025.
