Junior Heritage Consultant – Haley Sharpe Design

Leading heritage design consultancy, Haley Sharpe Design Ltd (hsd) are seeking to engage a dynamic and forward-looking junior heritage consultant to work with our cultural and museum sector clients. This new role provides the right candidate with the opportunity to deepen the Company’s consultancy offer, working with public and private sector clients both in the UK and internationally.
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as showing a willingness to collaborate closely with other disciplines within the business, including interpretative, design and visitor experience planning and project delivery personnel.
From either first-hand sector experience, gained either in the UK or overseas, or relevant academic training, you will bring an understanding of some or all of these activities:
- Carrying out sector-specific research and the ability to make insightful, strategic recommendations for heritage sector clients.
- Supporting the development of business plans for heritage / cultural institutions as part of the masterplanning process.
- Supporting the creation of feasibility studies including an appreciation of issues relating to operational/staffing and governance strategies for cultural sector providers.
- An understanding of audience development, activity planning and evaluation planning in a heritage-sector context.
- An awareness of relevant heritage sector funding streams and grant bodies (in the UK/Europe and potentially other regions), including current funder priorities.
- Experience of structuring or delivering project consultation with a range of stakeholders and communities.

- A willingness to travel throughout the UK, Ireland and potentially internationally.
- A good level of IT versatility and literacy.
- A full UK drivers’ licence.
Optional:
- 1-3 years’ experience in a cultural or heritage sector business or institution
