Hours: Full time
Term: Permanent

Museums Northumberland supports a range of projects that bring collections closer to people.
We are recruiting for new colleagues to help us ‘Share Northumberland’s Stories to engage, enrich and inspire’ and support community coproduction, climate activism, learning and inspiration across our museums and beyond.
Purpose of the Job
You will lead and champion formal and informal learning and engagement activity across the organisation, working with a range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure we exceed our audience expectations, and meet their needs, removing any barriers to participation.
You’ll coordinate, develop, and diversify our Community Advisory Panel, lead a cross-organisational audience development working group and manage a small team of learning and community connector colleagues, to support the delivery of engaging learning opportunities for all ages and the development of community-coproduction across the service.
In collaboration with the board and senior management team colleagues, you will apply the learning from capital projects, and bring your own specialist knowledge and experience, to improving our institutional understanding of audiences and transforming our capabilities to respond to diverse audience needs.
You will collaborate with community partners to lead and inspire teams to deliver our strategic priorities through different skills building opportunities, in-person and online, plus departmental strategies, policies, and plans.
You’ll support data-driven and research-informed organisational development, and form partnerships and networks to develop organisational best practise. Your work will be instrumental in improving wellbeing and ambition in our communities, building knowledge and resilience across our organisation, and improving our reputation and reach.
This is a permanent role with a probationary period of six months. Flexible, and remote working supported.
