Isle of Anglesey County Council seek a Learning & Engagement Manager at Oriel Môn to share the collections of the museum and gallery in a way that informs, excites and inspires.
Main duties / responsibilities
- To be responsible for all on-site interpretation, engagement, learning including digital learning content
- To create and submit all learning, engagement and interpretation related grants, including Arts Council Wales.
- To ensure Oriel Mon’s educational offer responds to the needs of teachers and students on Anglesey and the Welsh curriculum.
- To create and develop educational resources linked to exhibitions and collections for use by educational organisations (schools, colleges, Universities).
- To promote and share historical resources related to Anglesey, through partnership work with research institutions eg Anglesey Archives.
- To identify, deliver and evaluate learning and engagement projects linked to exhibitions and Oriel Môn’s collections. This will include identifying relevant grant funding bodies, leading on grant applications, working with freelancers to co-ordinate activity and evaluating activity.
- To identify community groups of all ages on the island and ensure their voices are represented in Oriel Mon’s work and collections.
- To develop and manage outreach programmes eg Masterclasses, Life Drawing, Open Days, Family trails etc
- To represent and promote the work of Oriel Môn at relevant events and through networks and partnerships eg prepare and give talks / interviews to the media, local community and other stakeholders
- To lead on all Education and Outreach partnerships
- To line manage the Learning and Engagement Co-Ordinator, and volunteers where necessary
- To risk assess related activities to ensure that all is provided safely and in accordance with current best practice and all legislative requirements
- To share the out of hour’s on-call rota.
