Learning and Engagement Officer – Lyme Regis Museum
Salary: £28,300
Hours: 30-35 per week (to be agreed)
Location: Lyme Regis Museum, Bridge Street, Lyme Regis, Dorset DT7 3QA

We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised individual to join our team. The successful candidate will have a passion for heritage, geology and visitor engagement, with strong interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
Reporting to the Museum Director, the successful applicant will be a play a vital role in the delivery of the Museum’s successful school and fossil walks programme. As well assisting with the co-ordination and delivery of the Lyme Regis Fossil Festival, audience development projects and developing volunteer engagement projects.
The successful candidate must be able to work flexibly as this is annualised hours contract and hours will vary week to week due to tide times and school bookings and will include some weekend, school holiday and bank holidays.
The successful candidate must be educated to degree level in a science subject such as Earth Sciences, Geography, or Biology and be highly organised and self-motivated. Familiar with Microsoft 365 and be an effective and confident communicator, able to engage with the public, build relationships with colleagues and across the sector.
You will have experience of delivering activities, events, talks and walks for schools, specialist groups and the general public in the heritage, environment or education sector.
