A unique opportunity for a dynamic Learning & Public Programmes Officer at the brand new Stourbridge Glass Museum providing an exciting new home for the internationally significant Stourbridge glass collection in an iconic recently restored historic building set in the Stourbridge Glass Quarter funded by ERDF, National Lottery Heritage Fund and others.

Reporting to the Museum Manager the post-holder will develop and deliver the Museum’s learning and public programmes on site and via outreach as set out in the NLHF Activity Plan, to extend public understanding of the Museum’s heritage and serve the communities of the area.  The post-holder will deliver formal and informal learning programmes and public activities through sustaining or developing partnerships with private and voluntary sector organisations, arts organisations, schools and colleges.  This is an opportunity to put your skills to devising and delivering high quality public engagement programmes.

As part of this role you will need to plan, monitor and control  budgets and support the museum’s income generation activities.  You will also share the role of Duty Manager with other paid staff.

Experience of delivering a programme of learning, events and outreach is essential.  You will have excellent communication skills both written and oral, a proven ability to meet deadlines and sound ICT skills.

You should hold a degree or have a relevant professional qualification/experience or equivalent vocational training.

Salary £13,500 – 2 year fixed term contract with the possibility of extension

21 hours per week on a flexible basis to include weekend and evening duties
