Job Title: Marketing and Digital Content Creator
Salary: £24,000
Hours: Full time
Term: Permanent
Location: The Historic Dockyard Chatham, Kent

Admiral Lord Nelson once said: “It is the custom, and a very bad one, for the English never to tell their own story.” BUT at The Historic Dockyard Chatham we have a significant story to tell, one with many facets that extend across all corners of the world. There are good guys and bad guys, intricate plot twists, tales of tragic loss and, of course, a good helping of happy endings. Chatham’s story is one of hero’s and legends; a story of great loyalties; of mighty courage and of world-renowned innovation.

We are looking to recruit a Marketing and Digital Content Co-ordinator who can take these captivating stories, spanning over 400-years of maritime history, and deliver them to today’s diverse audiences in exciting and creative ways, engaging both young and old, to drive physical visits to The Historic Dockyard Chatham and interaction through innovative digital experiences.

As a core part of the Communications and Public Engagement Department, the successful candidate will collaborate with teams across the organisation, including Collections, Hospitality, Filming, Programming and Events to create engaging communications that deliver our brand story to our target audiences. They will have a good understanding of digital communications channels, be a strong copywriter and have the ability to select the most effective channels to achieve the best conversion results.

The Marketing and Digital Content Co-ordinator will play an important role in supporting the Trust’s digital communications and platforms, creating digital content and contributing to the organisation’s social media, while supporting the Communication and Public Engagement department’s administrative functions. This is a great opportunity for a digital savvy, highly organised, imaginative and motivated individual.
