The American Museum, in Bath, is offering an exciting opportunity for an energetic and gifted communicator to lead on the Museum’s marketing.
The Marketing Officer role is responsible for all marketing and PR activity. The Marketing Officer oversees all social media platforms, website, press releases, editorial coverage, image and video content, leaflet distribution, on site marketing, advertising (paid for and free), discounts and other marketing and PR opportunities. The Marketing Officer works closely with local Destination Management Organisations and partnerships to promote the Museum.
The Marketing Officer will be part of the Business & Development department at the Museum, responsible for membership, marketing, commercial income generation and fundraising for the Museum.
This is an incredible chance for someone to significantly develop the marketing at the Museum, and through the process, to obtain substantial experience in marketing.
About the American Museum & Gardens
The American Museum & Gardens takes you on a journey through the history of America, from its early settlers to the twentieth Century. With its remarkable collection of folk and decorative arts, displayed in original period rooms from the US. This is all set within a fine Georgian manor house with outstanding views over the Limpley Stoke Valley.
The attraction boasts extensive gardens and parkland. The 30 acres surrounding the house include a replica of George Washington’s garden at Mount Vernon, a Lewis and Clark trail, and an arboretum. There is also a newly developed American Garden, providing exciting horticultural insight into the flora of the United States.
There is an annually updated temporary exhibition in our Exhibition Rooms. Previous exhibitions have included Kaffe Fasset’s Quilts in America, and ‘Marilyn Monroe’.
The Marketing Officer will have responsibility for the internal and external marketing of the museum.
